'Sup, Dudes!?
I guess we've been in a bit of a Book Era the past few weeks, haven't we?
I wonder why that is…I mean, it's been several months since my book collection was released, so why would Brian care about books?
Oh! That's right! There's a NEW POLARNOIDS BOOK!!! Yup! Polarnoids Volume 2: On the Write Track is available for you to order right now. If you do, you'll get the second hundred comics (that is, comics 101-200) as well as a behind-the-scenes look at how Polarnoids is made! (Because of the behind-the-scenes stuff, though, this book is thicker and thus $3 more than Volume 1.) Buy stuff now!!!
Of course, Brian's also just obsessed with books, so he doesn't really need to have any singular reason to make comics about them…He's also all into that Silmarillion-y Jirt stuff ("Jirt" being a pronunciation of "J.R.R.T.", short for "J.R.R. Tolkien"), so it should come as no surprise that he's made a character of his into it too…I'm just surprised he chose Colonel Bombshell!
I could ask him why, but I wonder if it's that he thinks it's a funny juxtaposition or if he just felt like drawing a camo bikini today. Who really knows? I don't think Brian even really knows. Regardless, you got a nerd in a camo bikini today. If you're into that sort of thing, congrats. Just know that she usually has a bazooka nearby and will probably die of lung cancer, because she smokes cigars. (Also, what's the deal with her radioactivity tattoo? Is the ink in the tattoo radioactive? Did Colonel Bombshell work in a radioactive facility once? Is she just a freak? Is any of this really my business???)
Anyway, I still don't know what military Colonel Bombshell is a part of. For all I know, she isn't part of one, and she's being deceptive. Or, maybe her first name is "Colonel," and she's just decided to make that her personality…Regardless, I feel bad for suggesting she might be a freak. All of my friends are freaks. I'm a freak in some ways. Being a freak doesn't make you a bad person. (It doesn't make you a good person either, though, and maybe launching a rocket at your inconsiderate neighbor's minivan is grounds for being the "bad" kind of freak.) I don't really know what it makes you, honestly, and there are more interesting things to talk about…like those cute elf ear things Colonel Bombshell is wearing. You can't really tell in the picture—since everything is made of ink and/or pixels—but those things are made out of metal. Brian's seen them IRL before, but he doesn't know where you can get them. Unfortunately, that means I don't know either, since my knowledge of the real world is reliant upon his. If you figure it out, though, feel free to let us know via email. I probably won't pass it along, though, because that would mean you'd rather buy someone else's stuff instead of all the sick stuff Brian makes at Starry Knight Studios!
Okay, that's enough of a Scribb1e for this week. Tune in next time when I'll probably have a bare midriff! (And maybe I'll skateboard some too!)
